Art and Meaning

the work table

As some of you may know, artist Katherine Treffinger is currently interviewing other artists for a project she has titled "Art and Meaning" where each artist describes the meaning of making art along with an image of their work. She recently asked me to participate and today is my day of the post which can be viewed here. Many wonderful artists have already contributed their thoughts and images toward the project...I hope you will venture over to her site for an inspiring visit.

The photograph inspires me to rush off and create art.

I was glad to see you on Katherine's blog MA. I did not know that you were a runner, but I so relate to your thoughts on the feeling of freedom you get when you run or paint. These are absolutely the only times I feel so unfettered. For several years, before I began painting again, while I ran, I visualized what I would paint, if I had the courage. Now I do both!
