New Work for Beacon Art Gallery

"taming a restless heart"
2009
20x20 in.

"gender nectar"
2009
25x25 in.

Two more paintings that are shore bound this coming Tuesday. I've been painting like mad, enjoying the urgency to get the work done in time for the summer art crowd at the Jersey shore. I'm hoping to have a couple more small pieces completed tomorrow and then it's packing time.

Very nice;;
You have been busy...Your work is so peaceful to me..Do you work that way or does it comes across that way? Maybe it is one in the same.

Such a nice compliment, Elizabeth. Thank you. x

Thanks, Katelen. I'm usually pretty energetic and keyed up when I start a piece to get the color down. I find myself selecting really calm and soothing music when I begin to fine tune the composition and refine the details. I have only become aware that I am doing this in recent months. I really feed off of music when I work.

Have a great rest of the weekend gals !!

Hi Maryanne,
Your painting always inspires me.
The way you use colour and the balance you create with lines and dashes.
I wish you lived a bit nearer!
Thanks to blogs we are lucky to discover so much talent.xx

Mary Ann: I have followed your work on ESTY for a long time. A HUGE smile came over my face last year when I visited my friend Mandy's CIRCA gallery in Asheboro, NC. A few of your paintings were hanging on the wall. Not my colors or I would have bought ON THE SPOT! Your work is compelling. This blog allows fans to trace your artistic growth. Come to NC to see us sometime.

Thank you, Blue Sky :-)

Michala, thanks so much. I wish we lived closer too. It does make me wonder about the future with so many of us posting work on the internet and where it will lead us. I'm keeping an open mind about it. For now, as you said, it is wonderful to be in tune with so many forms of inspiring art via blogs and other sites. xx

Jan, it's really nice to hear from you. I had no idea the gallery Mandy runs is now called Circa Gallery. I'll have to look it up. I am happy to hear you saw my work there and am so appreciative of your support and continued interest in it. If I am ever headed to NC I will most certainly post word of it here. Thank you so much for your warm note :-) x
